The Record

Everything else, and there's a lot of it. Filter by the state your idea is in. Never by medium, because nobody has ever been hired for having a Print tag.

C1 ⌘⇧3

ATLANTA · FOUNDER PROJECT

Two hundred desktops from ninety-seven countries, in one week.

Named for the Mac screenshot shortcut. One question, show us your desktops, and one incentive: post your workspace and the post links to your portfolio and your Twitter.

01 02 rebuilt in type

200+ submissions and visitors from 97 countries in the first week, driven by coverage from AgencySpy, NotCot and others.

C2 NBC Seeso

ATLANTA · c. 2016 · DIGITAS

NBC handed us a streaming service to explain. We shamelessly used Monty Python.

NBCUniversal's ad-free comedy channel: $3.99 a month for shows, stand-up, films, and a Monty Python collection you couldn't get anywhere else. Gone too soon.

ADDY: Bronze, Branded Content. Teaser pre-roll (:15), explainer (3:00), and a making-of. Seeso is gone. The tapes are fine.

C3 Center for Civil & Human Rights

ATLANTA · DIGITAS

A forty-five-second thank-you note, for MLK Day.

The smallest entry in the Record, and the one I'd show anyone who wants to know if I can write.

":45" · one spot, one singer, six MLK landmarks across Atlanta, ending inside the Center. It closes on two lines: A hero was born here. His dream lives on here.

C4 Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

ATLANTA · c. 2019 · DIGITAS

A children's hospital site rebuilt in the open, on time and on budget.

CHoA.org serves families on the worst day of their lives, and it needed to act like it.

delivered on time and on budget, seamless across mobile and desktop. Clean and clear, because families count on it.

C5 SunTrust Bank

ATLANTA · 2013–2014 · ENGAUGE

Atlanta froze solid and the bank was the one asking what it could do.

Winter Storm Leon shut Atlanta down and stranded people on the interstate overnight. We put out real-time Southern hospitality instead of a brand statement: help, offered plainly, while it was still happening.

under a day from storm to work in market, while the interstate was still shut.

C6 SweetWater Brewing Company

ATLANTA · 2013 · ENGAUGE

Take away the water and the beer disappears too.

Every year SweetWater raises money with its retailers for Waterkeeper Alliance, which protects rivers and waterways. They wanted a bigger year, with little budget and less time. One appropriately beer-fuelled night, the line surfaced: No Water Means No Beer.

No Water Means No Beer shipped whole. The client took every piece of it.

C7 United States Marine Corps

ATLANTA · 2011–2012 · JWT

Instead of a foam finger, we handed Ironman fans an ammo can.

A fan sign is the most disposable object at any endurance event. So for the USMC + Ironman partnership we didn't make a sign. We made an ammo can, modelled on the ones recruits lift in PT. On race day, tens of thousands of spectators held them overhead.

tens of thousands of ammo cans held overhead on race day. Three programs across TV, radio, print, digital and outdoor.

C8 DASANI

ATLANTA · 2012–2013 · ENGAUGE

We doubled the fanbase of a brand whose product is, by design, nothing.

Coke wanted its flagship water loved, not just admired for working. It launched DASANI Drops into a category that didn't exist yet, gunning for badge-brand status.

social fanbase doubled to 150,000+. A gain of roughly 125,000 followers.

C9 Chick-fil-A

ATLANTA · 2012–2013 · ENGAUGE

Seven million fans, and the first Instagram video in Chick-fil-A history.

Raving fans, and no plan for what to hand them between meals. So we built Bite-Sized Delights: small, authentic servings sized for how people actually browse. Five minutes on a phone at lunch. Two hours on a laptop at night.

fanbase grew past 7 million on Facebook, 270,000 on Twitter, 22,000 on Instagram. Fan sentiment up across the board.

C10 American Spirit Whiskey

ATLANTA · 2010 · CARDINAL & COMPANY

We hand-built a whiskey bottle to win the pitch. And guessed the right one out of a hundred and fifty.

Cardinal & Company was one month old. Two Georgia-born businessmen wanted to launch a clear whiskey in the South. So we skipped the deck and built the bottle by hand: mould, label, back label, the whole object.
